Deepalaya School wins 2nd One Nation Netball Cup!

The 2nd edition of India’s only mixed teams netball tournament for schools was held at the Deepalaya School, New Delhi on 24th & 25th of May, 2014

The tournament was won by Deepalaya School who defeated 2013 winners Froebel School by 18 goals to 16 in a thrilling final match.

The bronze medal was won by Naz Goal Delhi who defeated Khelo Netball, Kolkata by 12 goals to 5 in the 3rd place playoff.

The Girl Power! best girls team award was won by Goal Harkesh Nagar who won the final match against Goal Mumbai by 9-7 in double extra time.

The best player award was given to Sarita of Naz Goal India and Wasik of Froebel School.

The annual tournament, India’s only mixed teams event for U16 players is a much anticipated and held during school summer holidays in quite the hottest weather possible. This year, we were lucky that we got rain on each night that cooled down things somewhat – yet, the heat remained a challenge, especially for Froebel School who were defending champions.

The One Nation Netball Cup is organised by the Netball & Education Trust in conjunction with the Naz Foundation’s Goal Program. This year’s tournament was sponsored by WomenWin, for more on WomenWin and their programmes –
